Billerica 250th Committee Locks In July 3rd Concert and Bike Safety Event

BILLERICA — May 28, 2025 — Billerica's 250th Anniversary Committee confirmed a July 3rd Concert in the Common and bicycle safety event as its next major milestone while working through T-shirt procurement and a months-long minutes backlog. Meeting May 28, the committee finalized that Chief Frost's bicycle safety programming will run from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 3rd, with a concert to follow at 6:30 p.m., and endorsed the 215th Army Band's July 8 appearance at Billerica High School as a 250th-sponsored event. A committee member identified as Kelly reported ordering 60 shirts at roughly 47 cents each and was negotiating silk-screen printing through a local vendor called ADG, with the committee reaffirming its earlier vote for a four-inch chest logo. Chief Frost cautioned that any July 3rd food service — including a possible police association hamburger-and-hot-dog fundraiser — would require a Board of Health permit and off-duty volunteer coordination, saying he was "a little blindsided" by the scope of what was being considered. The sole formal vote accepted an unchanged Treasurer's Report, with a member noting a roughly $300 deposit still pending from recent fundraising.
