Billerica Town Meeting OKs Skate Park, Fire Station Move, and Town-Wide Audit
BILLERICA — October 21, 2024 — Billerica Interim Town Manager Clancy Main recapped six Town Meeting articles and several active projects in his October 21 return to the Town Hall Weekly video series. The October 1 Town Meeting, completed in a single night, passed $390,000 for a skate park at PHR — "passed with a very high margin," Main said — as well as a town-wide audit already contracted to Markham auditing firm, a North Billerica fire station relocation to a former mobile station site with a clean Chapter 21E environmental clearance, a website overhaul through JGPR.net covering six town departments, a police station space needs assessment, and permanent park protection for the former Dixon property. Separately, Main announced the town has broken ground on a $46 million DPW facility at 250 Treble Cove Road, expected to take two years to complete.
