Billerica Historic Commission votes to interview three RFP finalists

Billerica Historic Commission narrows historic-survey bidders from six to three. Commissioners voted to interview EDR, Kleinfelder and Michigan-based Loja Preservation for a townwide historic resources survey, after members split over penalizing out-of-state firms, with Michelle DeParisis saying she "felt uncomfortable giving this contract to a company that is so big" the town wouldn't know who it was dealing with. Keith LeVan and DeParisis were appointed 5-0 to a subcommittee to lead interviews, targeting a September project start.
Members also discussed a broken Concord Road trolley marker, estimated at $3,500 to $4,000 to replace in granite, with LeVan volunteering to pursue a William G. Pomeroy Foundation grant. The commission approved its prior meeting's minutes 4-0 with one abstention.
