Billerica ZBA continues four cases, picks pricier firm for Gray Street stormwater review. The board opened with a moment of silence for former member Bob Accomando, then continued four matters, including case 2615 at 4 Olive Road and an anti-merger appeal by Robert Romley, to September 16 on 4-0 votes. Members spent nearly two hours on a shipping-container setback variance near Alexander Road and Memory Lane, telling applicant Jonathan they'd likely support relief to 20 feet once he obtains a survey; the case was continued to October 21.
For the Craftsman Village 40B project's stormwater review, the board chose Howard Stein and Hudson at $5,250, the priciest of three bids, specifically because the firm has no prior ties to Billerica's Conservation Commission. Abutter Grace told the board, "I know you guys don't care, you're going to have to deal with it."
