Billerica Youth Soccer is switching leagues for the fall season as local youth sports groups open registration for the months ahead.

BILLERICA -- Billerica Youth Soccer Association (BYSA) announced that Massachusetts Youth Soccer accepted its petition to change leagues, moving the organization from the Middlesex Youth Soccer League to the Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League starting in fall 2026. BYSA said it will "work through the conversion process over the summer with the admin of Nashoba Valley and provide more information later in the year as appropriate," and thanked "all members who voted, the coaches who supported and initiated this process, and the board members who guided this process through to conclusion."

BYSA has also opened registration for its Fall 2026 in-town program, for players from Pre-K (entering kindergarten in fall 2027) through eighth grade. The group noted that travel invitations will go out separately to players who took part in tryouts.

Separately, BYSA flagged new sideline-conduct rules from US Soccer and Mass Youth Soccer, describing "strict new protocols and punishments for ANY person on a soccer field in any capacity related to unsporting behavior and referee abuse," with penalties that can include lifetime bans and are tripled when directed at a minor referee.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Billerica Hockey Association (BHA) has opened registration for its 2026-27 season. The organization also posted a thank-you to sponsors of its fourth annual golf tournament and announced new board members for 2026.
