Billerica Planning Board Approves Georgiana Road Subdivision Split and Dish Wireless Permit

BILLERICA — August 8, 2022 — Billerica Planning Board approves a lot split on Georgiana Road and a wireless tower co-location at 300 Concord Road. The board voted to modify the 2004 Georgia Pines Estates subdivision at 24 Georgiana Road, dividing the Rumley family's 3.95-acre lot into two conforming parcels — Lot 1A at 1.74 acres and Lot 1B at 2.21 acres — with both meeting the bylaw's 200-foot frontage and dimensional requirements. Attorney Jim D'Angora, representing owners Scott and Mrs. Rumley, said the project replaces an existing detention basin with an underground infiltration chamber at a new cul-de-sac, and that the $5,000 peer review retainer would be directed toward stormwater and conservation review rather than a planning subdivision review the director called unnecessary for "a modification of an existing approved subdivision." The board also approved a special permit for Dish Wireless to co-locate antennas and shelter equipment on the existing lattice tower at 300 Concord Road, with board members noting federal law leaves little basis to deny co-location on an existing structure. In staff updates, the planning director confirmed Amazon Fresh has received building permits and that demo permits have been filed for the Market Basket on the mall site.
