Billerica HDC Unanimously Approves Dog Daycare Renovation and 1796 Cafe Restoration

BILLERICA — July 8, 2026 — Billerica's Historical District Commission cleared two Boston Road properties for exterior renovation in unanimous votes at its July 8 meeting. The commission approved Adriana Shukla's application for Latte's Landing — a dog daycare and boarding facility opening in the former BATV building at 430 Boston Road — covering a Benjamin Moore Hail Navy exterior paint, an eight-foot white vinyl fence, and a wall-mounted LED sign measuring approximately 90 by 36 inches; members conditioned fence approval on a satin rather than glossy finish. A separate 7-0 vote approved exterior restoration of the adjacent Center Cafe building at 432 Boston Road, where the building owner described a like-for-like wood restoration of windows, siding, and shutters on a structure dating to 1796 — described by one commissioner as "the last 18th-century building in the center" that retains its original character. Two members, Dan Valentine and George Sinoves, were absent from both votes.
