The committee approved a $1,000 silver sponsorship for the first annual Sergeant Ian Taylor Memorial Tournament on August 31 and $500 for the Justin's Voice sober-living fundraiser on September 14.
Detective Bobby Simmons reported eight overdose incidents in July, including one fatal overdose, and said "the methamphetamines are starting to come around a lot more than they ever have." Members also set aside $750 for a library Christmas tree donation and began planning a Wizard of Oz-themed drive-in movie for the group's 20th anniversary in October.
