Billerica panel interviews Kleinfelder for historic survey

Billerica's Historic Commission selection committee interviewed Kleinfelder for a grant-funded historic property survey, with a hiring decision due by September 1. Senior architectural historian Amanda Taylor and architectural historian Erin Ware, both based in Kleinfelder's Portland, Maine office, outlined a three-person team, weekly budget reviews and a two-tier internal quality-control process for Massachusetts Historical Commission inventory forms. "We certainly know the pressures that come with grant deadlines," Taylor said, citing prior MHC project work in Falmouth.
Ware said she will take the lead on research before going "out on maternity leave this fall." Committee members Keith LaVon and Michelle DeParisis said they found Kleinfelder's team "more enthusiastic" than some previously interviewed firms, calling its Massachusetts survey experience "somewhere in the middle" compared to other candidates. No vote was taken; the selected firm will have 12 months to complete the survey once under contract.
