Pre-Town Meeting · Meeting of October 1, 2026

Billerica officials previewed 49 Fall Town Meeting warrant articles, including a $925,000 firefighters' contract and a $1.2 million police station renovation. The briefing, held ahead of Tuesday's Town Meeting, covered a $3 million water main completion project, a $9.3 million sewer rehabilitation funding add, and $622,821 to cover a Shawsheen Valley Technical High School budget gap. The presiding Town Hall official said the police renovation's cost estimate grew "from about an $11 million price tag" to "around $14-15 million" after design work.

Officials also outlined a $225,000 fire truck borrowing rescission funded by leftover ARPA money, a new tree preservation bylaw from the Lorax Committee, and a Route 3 corridor overlay district meant to boost the town's roughly 1.7 percent new-growth rate. No votes were taken; Town Meeting opens October 6 at Town Hall.
