Library books Boston Area Gleaners talk for July 16

BILLERICA — The Billerica Public Library will host a program from Boston Area Gleaners this week, one of the few concrete community events on the calendar as the library moves deeper into its summer schedule.

COMMUNITY & ARTS Boston Area Gleaners, a regional nonprofit that recovers surplus farm produce for food-insecure families, is scheduled to present at the Billerica Public Library on Thursday, July 16, at 7 p.m. Registration is required through the library's events page. The talk adds to a summer slate at the Concord Road branch that already includes an all-ages summer reading challenge, which began June 22 and runs through the season.

COMING UP The Masshire Lowell Mobile Career Center is scheduled to return to the parking lot behind the library on Monday, July 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering residents on-site job-search assistance.
