Disabilities Panel Flags Talbot House Parking Issue

Commission on Disabilities · Meeting of August 20, 2026

BILLERICA — The Billerica Commission on Disabilities raised concerns about the accessible parking lot at Talbot House apartments and began drafting written duties for its officer roles. Secretary Maria Martin said a nurse reported that "the whole entire parking lot is a disaster" at the Billerica Housing Authority property at 33 Talbot Avenue, prompting members to plan photographs and possible outreach to the housing authority or select board. Member Jason Gale presented a draft responsibilities document for the chair, vice chair and secretary positions, with Lauren Norman, who ran the meeting as chair, saying some duties would be "a lot" for one person.

The commission, which lacks a treasurer, had member Daniel Darris-O'Connor volunteer to retrieve its monthly treasury report from Town Hall. LRTA representative Andrew Jennings reported only one added evening bus run for Billerica from a recent service change. The panel approved its July minutes and adjourned unanimously at 7:25 p.m.
