ConCom advances culvert and sewer line repairs
Billerica Conservation Commission pushes major culvert, sewer and addition cases to peer review.
ConCom · Meeting of September 14, 2026
Billerica Conservation Commission pushes major culvert, sewer and addition cases to peer review. Town Engineer Kelly Conway told the board the Riverdale Road culvert "has seen better days, has pretty significant rusting, loss of material, cracks in areas," justifying a two-pipe replacement over a costlier box culvert. WSP's Kimberly DeGunis presented a two-year, roughly 12,000-foot rehabilitation of a Brown Street force main carrying about 30 percent of the town's sewage, continued to October 26 pending Clean Water SRF funding decisions expected early next year.
A 14 Dudley Road addition hit a snag over an unresolved 2017 tree-planting order and was continued to September 28. The commission issued certificates of compliance for 1 Baker Street and 21 Shed Road, denied one for incomplete restoration on Pinedale Avenue, and set 25-foot and 50-foot brookside buffers with a post-and-rail fence in the long-running 283 Rangeway Road enforcement case.
